“Matter of Time” Opening Night Reception at Gallery Brown

Posted by

Under the blanket of night, the crowd at Gallery Brown for the opening of Matter of Time was buzzing. Music and drinks flowed, and excitement bubbled for the man of the hour, Gregory Siff. This marks Siff’s second show in 2012, and notably, Matter of Time — like his previous exhibition “There + Back”–will be the talk of Los Angeles gallery scene.

In celebration of the opening, patrons of the gallery adorned themselves with paper crowns painted black and white and embellished with the word “GREGORY.” Wearing one of these crowns made the opening feel more like a birthday party with close friends and family then a stuffy and impersonal gallery scene.

The energy in room was contagious, with folks from different parts of LA that have met this artist and have embraced his energy and art. All the hugs and smiles were as impressive as the art hanging on the walls. Even with all the flashes of light, Facebook posts and Instragram pics you can’t really see what  the opening was like. These moments you can’t buy. You must experience a Gregory Siff opening for yourself. And then go back and see the art again!
