Block Party in Culver City: Branded Arts

Posted by

Live painting by John Park at Branded Arts event “Block Party”.

Branded Arts in Culver City held a block part, a one night event of art and community enrichment, last month which celebrated street and local art.  The event, held in a vacant car lot surrounded by beautiful murals by some most impressive and stand-out street and underground artists from around the world–like DABS & MYLAHERAKUT, Anthony Lister, Shark Toof, Miss Van, RIME, Andrew Hem, Yoskay Yamamoto, Robert Standish, Skullphone, and GAIA–also showcased local artists and vendors. CARTWHEEL‘s own Luis Ochoa was there to cover the Branded Arts Block Party and  give you a glimpse of this unique happening. Soon these murals will be gone. The Los Angeles Times reported on the next phase of this car lot: The property at 8810 Washington will be demolished, along with the murals, and a new retail development will be built in its place, which is a great loss. Definitely make your way out there and this outdoor exhibit before it’s gone.
