Musicians, artists and musician/artists celebrate the synthesis of art and music when Listen Deep presents “Art and Sound, A Journey into the Mind of Music”  at Gallery 446 in Palm Springs. This exhibition, featuring original works by a select group of talented musicians and artists in honor of the Coachella Music Festival, opens with a reception April 10, 2014 from 7pm to 10pm.

Now in its 16th year, the Coachella Music & Arts Festival provides the perfect background for this gallery show curated by Eddie Donaldson (Guerillaone), Raymond Roker (URB Magazine) and Jen Disisto (Art Duet). Over thirty-five artists explore the relationship between the visual and the aural. From photos of music icons (works by Piper Ferguson,  Janette Beckman, Estevan Oriol, Patrick Hoelck, Ricky Powell ) to photos and paintings by music icons (including Moby, Brandon Boyd, DJ Poet, members of House of Pain and Fishbone, DJ Z Trip, Aaron LaCrate, and Stephen Malbon of Frank151, to name a few), to music-themed art (including a piece by Cartwheel Art writer/photographer Lauren Over), “Art and Sound” takes the viewer on a sensory journey.

On Saturdays of Coachella, April 12 and 19, from 11am to 5pm, the “Art and Sound” becomes an even more immersive experience with the public invited to a gifting lounge at Gallery 446, where gift bags, featuring an array of exclusive items relating to art and music, will be distributed.

Listen Deep is the presenting sponsor of “Art and Sound, A Journey into the Mind of Music.. The exhibition’s main sponsors are Boomphones, Pure Fix Cycles, URB Magazine, Amoeba Music, Skuff Marx, TiTos Vodka, Vision Streetwear, Wang’s in the Desert, RESQ Water, Atomic T’shirts, Cartwheel Art, Sandy Morgan Chocolates, and Frank 151.
