Arts District Alliance, a project of Arts District Community Council LA (ADCCLA) in collaboration with community partners are bringing a dynamic weeklong cultural exchange program, titled “Uniting the World through Art” to the Downtown Los Angeles Arts District from Tuesday January 20 – Sunday January 25.
The program dates were designed as a Continuum with the LA Art Show programming, where the Beijing artists were exhibiting with CM2 Space and ME Art Gallery.
To offer a a connection between the two Arts Districts, there will be four artists from China’s 798 Beijing Arts District that include: Edward Chung, Guo Jijiang, Tinly Wong, and Liu DaDi, who are residing in live/work lofts provided by ADCCLA, and four artists from Los Angeles that include: Fred Hoerr, Tammy Holmgren, Osceola Refetoff and Laura Velkei.
The artists from 798 Beijing and Los Angeles will be sharing their photographic perspectives through two gallery opening receptions and public events, including a public tour on wednesday from 11:00am – 1:30pm by Cartwheel Art Tours.
For the 2015 “Uniting the World through Art” inaugural exchange, ADCCLA has proudly partnered with Weimei Chen, Director of Chinese Art Affairs for the LA Art Show to showcase the growth of art and photography in Beijing, China.
