Last Thursday, February 5, Gallery Go — the newest edition to the La Cienega Design Quarter’s contemporary art scene–hosted the opening reception for acclaimed celebrity photographer Timothy White.  For those unfamiliar with the name Timothy White, he’s photographed and continues to shoot some of the most recognizable movie posters of our time, the covers of countless high-profile publications, and imagery for an extraordinary roster of musicians.

Last Thursday’s gallery opening gave us a chance  to view many of White’s famous pin-up portraits of celebrities including Cindy Crawford, Tea Leoni, Angie Harmon, Naomi Campbell, Gina Gershon, Bridget Hall, Angie Everhart, Felicity Huffman, Molly Sims, Kate Hudson, Jamie Lynn-Sigler and many others.

Thursday’s crowd clearly respected the work of one of the most sought-after celebrity photographers in the country and had fun mingling at the new gallery–and viewing Timothy’s photographs whch captures the intimate, playful sides of legendary actors and actresses as well as the innocence of up-and-comers.

Many others also loved being in the small boutique space that occupied from 1969-1971 by Themis, a clothing boutique owned by Jim Morrison of  the Doors and operated by his LA woman, Pamela Curson. Themis was so exclusive that it was rarely open to the public, but became a hangout for the many artists and musicians in the music industry.

The show is on exhibit through March 15 at Gallery Go located at 947 N. La Cienega Blvd. West Hollywood, CA 90069.
