Who hasn’t sat at a bar, drinking a beer and doodled on a coaster? But many of us aren’t the extremely skilled painters, illustrators, animators, tattooists, sculptors or collage artists that are featured in the Annual La Luz de Jesus Coaster Show exhibition that takes a love of craft brewing and elevates it to high art.
Coast into Labor Day with the Coaster Show at La Luz de Jesus. Now in its third year, the Coaster Show is a highly anticipated art event featuring emerging/established artists whose creative impulses are confined only by the size of the canvas–in this case a 4″ tondo beer coaster that they tun into museum worthy exhibition pieces.
With over 300 artists and 886 pieces, this year is the biggest Coaster Show to date, and a great opportunity to discover and collect. And there are a lot of artists who La Luz de Jesus quite frankly can’t believe they got to participate. Whether you love beer or don’t, the art will blow your mind.
The rules are simple: Each coaster must be a solitary work (though it’s fine if several pieces work together contextually), and they must be priced $250 or less. There is no bottom, so some coasters will be free!
This year, they’ve got frames available, and just like last year, there will be some amazing beer there, too!
