Art openings hit the road running–Chung King Road that is, this Saturday from 7pm on, when the dreamy walk street reaches fever pitch as hopped up gallery hoppers make Chinatown the art party destination.  Highlights: Patrick McGilligan $99 Painting show at Coagula, featuring
recent original paintings from the cartoon genius on sale for $99, and his new book “The Lethargic Artist Coloring Book” making its debut at the opening; Jacques Flechemuller solo show–expressionistic paintings of idyllic scenes of courtship and domestic bliss at the Good Luck Gallery; and another mega exhibition from Gregorio Escalante Gallery, “Portal to the Future,” a group show featuring Banksy, Blek le Rat, Chaz Bojorquez, Robbie Conal, Shepard Fairey, Paul Frank, Jeff Gillette, Rick Griffin, David Lynch, Liz McGrath, Mark Ryden, Kenny Scharf, Shag, C.R. Stecyk, and Robert Williams.

Take Metro! Chung King Road is just two blocks from the Gold Line Spring Street Station! Come early, pick up a bottle of wine from Ling’s Wine and Beer Market, 974 Chung King Road and take with you for dinner at Yang Chow or Master Chef. Unoaked Chardonnay or Creepy Baby are white wines that go well with Chinese food!
