West Hollywood’s Morrison Hotel Gallery (located at Sunset Marquis Hotel) hosted acclaimed photographer Lynn Goldsmith in a book signing & talk with close friend & jewelry designer Loree Rodkin, on Tuesday February 9th, 2016.

The 100 person audience clamored to hear of Lynn’s very early start in photography, the evolution of her career, and inside stories on working with Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, Roger Daltry and most of music’s iconic subjects.

The Morrison Hotel Gallery describes Lynn Goldsmith further as follows:

Lynn’s multi award–winning work has appeared on and between the covers of Life, Newsweek, Time, Rolling Stone, Interview, People, Sports Illustrated, and many other magazines as well as ten books and hundreds of groundbreaking album covers including Patti Smith’s “Easter” and Frank Zappa’s “Sheik Yerbouti.” She has written songs with artists such as Sting, Steve Winwood, and Todd Rundgren.

In the 1970s she was a director for Joshua Television, ABC’s In Concert, and one of the first directors of the film promotion for musical artists, Grand Funk Railroad’s “We’re an American Band.” Lynn was the youngest member ever to be inducted into the Director’s Guild of America. She has won numerous awards for her videos as optic music artist Will Powers.

As a fine art photographer, her work is in numerous museums, she’s shown in galleries world wide and is currently working with her photography in conjunction with mix media painting. Lynn considers her work to be about breaking limiting thought patterns. An important inspiration in her career was an image made by Judy Dater of legendary photographer Imogen Cunningham with the model Twinka. The eighty-three year old photographer was coming out from behind a tree to photograph the nude, young, beautiful girl. Lynn identified with Ms. Cunningham, hoping that she too would still be a creating art until her last breath.

Lynn’s book, Rock and Roll Stories is available via contacting the gallery.
