Save the Date: Herakut “Masters of Wrong”, at Corey Helford Gallery – March 26th

HERA + AKUT = HERAKUT, an artist duo from Germany, whose street art has been seen on virtually every continent: Europe, Asia, Africa, North & South America, Australia. The walls of major and exotic cities alike have all been graced with the unmistakable style, beauty and the raw elegance of their works.

There have been numerous murals painted in Los Angeles, including a mural that will be seen during the adventure with Cartwheel Art Tours and Obscura Society LA with Atlas Obscura, on Saturday March 12th in Lincoln Heights. More here on the Lincoln Heights tour.

In addition, a mew mural will be painted on the exterior wall of Corey Helford Gallery’s new massive 12,000 square foot space in Boyle Heights, adjacent to the Downtown Los Angeles Arts District, as part of Herakut’s full exhibition of new works on canvas titled “Masters of Wrong,” that will be opening on Saturday March 26th from 7pm-10pm.

Since 2004 Hera and Akut have worked together, partnering on various successful global art projects. Their joint creative art process is dialogical, among themselves as well as towards the outside by embracing the public. It’s about storytelling, the creation of imaginary worlds and inspiring their figures with individual characters. Hera sets the characters’ form and proportions, whilst Akut paints the photorealistic elements. The further process is determined jointly by the two artists. Together they experiment with different formats, materials and methods.

Cartwheel Art has been following Herakut for many years, and founder Cindy Schwarzstein has been a collector of their work. That being said, we are beyond excited to see their new work being created for “Masters of Wrong,”, and the surprises that CHG has planned for their exhibition in our neighborhood!
