Join us at the stARTup Art Fair Los Angeles, a unique contemporary art fair for independent artists, Friday January 27th – Sunday January 29th, at Highland Gardens Hotel in Hollywood.

The intimate, boutique fair which was designed to provide artists and art enthusiasts direct access to the art world, foster new relationships and create an unparalleled exhibition platform for thought-provoking contemporary artwork in the entertainment capital of the country.

We are excited to see how the 37 artists from across the country will transform their respective hotel rooms into solo exhibitions of their current practices and works.

It’s a great opportunity for Los Angeles’ collectors, press, curators, and art lovers to shed their preconceived notions of what an art fair is, and to immerse themselves in the raw environments of the artists’ unfiltered worlds.

In addition to the exhibiting artists, listed in the preview below, stARTup Art Fair Los Angeles will feature curated rooms from local nonprofit partners: The Lancaster Museum of Art and History, 18th Street Arts Center, The Torrance Art Museum, PØST, and Los Angeles Art Association. This year stARTup Art Fair has announced the Lancaster Museum of Art and History as its beneficiary organization. They will receive fifty percent of all ticket sales.

Artists were selected in a blind-jury process by the members of the Selection Committee: Kendell Carter, renowned mixed media and installation artist, Long Beach, CA; Mat Gleason, Curator, Coagula Curatorial & Publisher, Coagula Art Journal, Los Angeles, CA; Anna Hygelund, Head of Post-War & Contemporary Art, Paddle8, New York, NY; Charlie James, Owner/Director, Charlie James Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; Michelle Papillion, Founder, PAPILLION, Los Angeles, CA; and Amanda Ross-Ho, renowned found-object, mixed media and installation artist, Los Angeles, CA

About stARTup Art Fair:
The art world is changing, and many working artists are finding themselves without a space to present their work. The core mission of stARTup Art Fair is to provide an exhibition venue for independent artists who are seeking to engage with art enthusiasts in a welcoming and interactive environment. Co-founded in 2015 by artist Ray Beldner, stARTup Art Fair gives independent artists access to the type of art world professionals and press usually reserved for traditional art fairs. The fair’s unique structure provides a marketplace that gives the artist the power to present and sell work on their own terms, allowing artists to keep 100% of their sales proceeds.
