Save the Date: Artist Reception for “Graffiti Saved My Life: The Photography of James Prigoff” at A + D: Architecture + Design Museum – March 3rd

 

Author and photographer, James Prigoff, has been on a sixty-year quest to document street art, public murals and graffiti from around the world. He is the co-author of Spraycan Art (1987), Painting the Towns – Murals of California (1997), and Walls of Heritage, Walls of Pride – The History of African-American Murals (2000), and one of only a few photographers featured in MoCA’s “Art in the Streets” exhibit in 2011.

During this exhibition at A + D: Architecture and Design Museum, located in our neighborhood of the DTLA Arts District, Prigoff gives us a small sampling of a personal archive of over 80,000 images, documenting this urban art form.
