This Saturday, July 15th, is the launch of Arts District Daze, hosted by the Los Angeles River Artists and Business Association. Arts District Daze, is a monthly event that will be held every 3rd Saturday from 1:00pm-6:00PM in the Downtown Los Angeles Arts District neighborhood. Join us for special art events, exclusive menu items, sales, music and more.
Navigate your way by following the yellow balloons! Parking is limited – take ride-share, walk, bike or Metro!
Pick up the brand new Downtown Los Angeles Arts District Map & Guide (arrives fresh off the press Friday night), at the LARABA booth and participating businesses. An online version will also be available Friday night.
The following is a list of some of the highlighted events for this Saturday’s launch of Arts District Daze. Included is a free tour, designed to become a monthly artist series, offered by Cartwheel Art Tours.


Angel City Brewery
Address: Arts District Farmers Market
Time: 12:00-3:00pm
Angel City Brewery Beer Sampling and DJ will be at the Arts District Farmer’s Market. They will be featuring their newest can release- Sunbather! Note: $1 from every 4-pack of Sunbather sold will go to support Arts District Daze.

Art Share L.A.
Address: 801 E. 4th Place (entrance is on Hewitt)
Time: 2:00PM – 3:30PM
Strange Interlude (Lily Press, harp, and Simon Linn-Gerstein, cello), Kaley Lane Eaton, and his friends will perform a concert of new works, including the world premiere of Kaley’s “subtle energy” for harp and cello at Art Share L.A.

Cartwheel Art Tours

 

Address: Meeting location for the tour is at LARABA booth, at the Farmers Market.

 

Time: 2:00pm – 3:30pm

 

Cindy Schwarzstein founder of Cartwheel Art Tours and resident of the Arts District, will be leading a free guided tour from 2:00pm-3:30pm. During this tour, you will meet three artist’s from the neighborhood, in Cartwheel Art Tours new monthly series, “Meet the Artists of the Arts District.” This month’s featured artists are Aiseborn, Anyes Galleani and David Hollen.

 

Special Note: Meeting location is at the LARABA Farmers Market booth. Please RSVP through Eventbrite. RSVP required. There’s a 10 person maximum for the tour, as we’ll be going into private studios and homes, of the artists.

Hauser & Wirth:

This summer, Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles is proud to present three exhibitions, ‘Takesada Matsutani’, ‘Paul McCarthy. WS Spinoffs, Wood Statues, Brown Rothkos’ and ‘Monika Sosnowska’. View monumental black walnut sculptures based on the German folk-tale of Snow White by LA-based artist Paul McCarthy, poetically dystopian sculptures by Polish artist Monika Sosnowska, and a range of experimental works by Osaka-born, Paris-based artist Takesada Matsutani. Afterward, contemplate the art on view with a glass of summer punch mixed by Manuela, the gallery’s onsite restaurant.

Rogue Collective

Rogue Collective, will be hosting an event in their space with Youth To The People Skincare and Mira Studios (Eyewear). Included as part of the event will be evolving DJ’s, cocktails, food, etc.

Shinola

Time: 11:00am – 3:00pm Arts District Daze Pop Up Featuring: Glasswing Floral and 6:00pm – 8:00pm The Dream Is Now Book Signing with Michel Arnaud.

As part of Arts District Daze, Shinola has brought in, Glasswing Floral with a pop up of their amazing floral arrangements. They will have complimentary Shinola Cola and staff selected vinyl on rotation throughout the day. Also check out Detroit: The Dream Is Now Book Signing with Michel Arnaud, and celebrate the release of Detroit: The Dream Is Now & learn sketching techniques with DTLA artist, Upendo Taylor.


The Wheelhouse: A Bike Shop + Coffee Shop

Shuffle into The Wheelhouse to start your day with Saturday Cartoons and Cereal Bowls. We’ll be serving up a very special cereal concoction that will make you feel like a kid again, especially if you were the kind of kid who snuck into the sugar cupboard before your parents were awake.

Voyager will be hosting a pop-up to introduce Hopp Shoes, Lea Thomas textiles, Tantuvi Studio & Playful Ceramics. Come have a drink, meet the artists and shop their collections.

Wittmore

Wittmore will be launching limited edition graphic prints framed and unframed from graphic artist Alivacious. Attached are a few examples of the digital prints we will be selling. He’s an LA native and has recently painted two large-scale wall scapes outside our shop (in the courtyard). We’re excited to begin working with him and evolve as we go.

In celebration of Arts District Daze, @DVHQ Lifestyle, will be having a WHY PAY THE TAX weekend from 1:00pm – 6:00pm.
