SAVE THE DATE: Opening Reception of “Kaleidoscope,” by Masakatsu Sashie and “Strange Days” by Vonn Sumner at KP Projects – Saturday February 3rd

Posted by

The opening reception of Masakatsu Sashie’s solo show “Kaleidoscope” and Vonn Sumner’s solo show “Strange Days” at KP Projects will be on Saturday, February 3rd, from 7-10pm.

Masakatsu Sashie was born in and still resides in Kanazawa, Japan, however, his unique paintings of intricately painted orbs are known internationally. The paintings seem to capture unusual structures created from both organic and man-made materials, suspended over a wasteland of industrial and modern landscapes. Based on a concept he calls “balanced aquarium,” his spheres embody “a perfectly self-contained space, within which the circle of life exists.”

Vonn Sumner’s “ Strange Days,” features his curious paintings of subjects doing something… strange. Portraying his often-costumed subjects in the act of something mysterious, we are forced to carefully contemplate each painting and decide for ourselves what is really going on.
