SAVE THE DATE: Opening Reception “Turmoil” a Solo Show by Jack Avetisyan at Armenian Arts Gallery – Friday February 2nd

Posted by

Armenian Arts Gallery in Glendale will be presenting “Turmoil” Jack Avetisyan’s first solo show with an opening reception on Friday, February 2nd. Avetisyan’s show encompasses an evolving body of work that began in 2016. Initially focused on the female figure, influenced by the ubiquitous portrayal of the female image in advertising and social media, his work has gradually evolved into the personal introspective subject matter, as he journeys through the uncertainty of self-discovery as it pertains to his cultural heritage. Observing the duality of life and the continuous struggle to better oneself, he strives to find the balance between individuality and preserving his Armenian culture, and balancing the corporate life and the freedom of being an artist. Creating work that explores realism in his figurative pieces, and the theoretical in his abstract work, one senses the inner turmoil he is trying to dispel.
