The Rendon Gallery - Blend

The Rendon Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles opens to the public for the first time on Friday, January 25, with a pop-up show featuring the work of Los Angeles artist Kelcey Fisher (a.k.a. KFiSH) in collaboration with other artists.

KFiSH lives in Venice and has a studio in Downtown Los Angeles. He is known for his murals, street art, and large-scale mixed media pieces, many of which feature graphic elements along with his signature “controlled chaos” pattern work. In June 2018, he participated in Art at the Rendon’s massive Hidden Rooms installation, where he met other artists he w as interested in working with—and that inspired the idea of BLEND as a collaborative show.

Fisher told Cartwheel, “Collaborating with other artists pushes me to work in different styles and grow as an artist and try out different mediums. It’s just a great experience all around. I’m learning their processes and they’re learning mine as well, and we’re building this artists’ community through it.”

BLEND will include collaborative work from Martellus Bennett, Zachary Bennett-Brook, Kyle Boatwright, Armando Dela, Gabe Gault, Davia King, Colette Miller, Moncho 1929, Vero Villareal Sada, Tiaan Schreuder, Shplinton, Priscilla Carpenter Witte, Yanoe, Erin Yoshi, and Ralph Ziman, among others.  Three of the featured artists—King, Boatwright, and Gault—previously worked with KFiSH on an art project at the Nipton Resort in Nipton, California. The artists used vintage cars as their canvases, and the results will be on display in The Rendon Gallery’s parking lot during BLEND.

Sponsors include Coronado Brewing Company and Rebel Coast Winery.

Exhibition:
Friday, January 25 (6 – 10 pm) and Saturday, January 26 (11 am – 5 pm)
