SAVE THE DATE: Art At The Rendon’s “Rhythms of the City” Is a Love Song to Los Angeles – November 8 – 10, 2019

Rhythms of the City

Cartwheel Art is thrilled to be collaborating with the Art At The Rendon team on another pop-up community fundraiser, “Rhythms of the City,” which will be open to the public for only one weekend this fall. Make sure the date is on your calendar so you don’t miss it!

Like our previous events Hidden Rooms and Stories, Rhythms of the City will transform the entire Rendon building on the corner of E. 7th St and S. Santa Fe Ave in the DTLA Arts District. Hidden Rooms filled the three-story building with immersive art installations, and Stories featured live performances and video projection. This production focuses on the musical and cultural diversity of Los Angeles—we’re bringing together L.A. musicians and bands of various styles and genres to perform a simultaneous, collaborative piece of music by Grammy-winning composer Heitor Pereira that reflects the sounds of the city as a whole.

The audience will be invited to explore the hotel inside and out during the performance. We want people to feel the heartbeat of the city and encounter unexpected harmonies as they move through the space.

Art At The Rendon will continue its tradition of donating event proceeds to community organizations. 100% of the proceeds from Rhythms of the City will benefit Play with Music, a Los Angeles based nonprofit organization that provides music and technology education to underserved youth.
