The final team at Coagula Curator’s College present 13•4•13:
One storage unit. 13 artists. Two curators. A  spontaneous array of works compiled from some of the strongest emerging and new artists in Los Angeles, curated by fine arts painter Wini Brewer and journalist Lisa Derrick, designed to stimulate synaptic synergy and elicit unexpected responses.

Utilizing the date of their show as the starting point and as the definition of their show, Brewer and Derrick create a cohesive exhibition which combines graphic and abstract works, collage, text, and figurative pieces that both flow and contrast, showcasing each artist’s unique style. By using the date of the opening to delineate the number of artists, the duo was able to focus on a tightly curated exhibition which highlights the diversity of work shown at Coagula.
Featuring works from: Sharon Bell, Wini Brewer, Carol Es, Ruben Esparza, Roni Feldman, Stevie Love, Michael Maas, Antonio Mendoza, Joe O’Neill, Leigh Salgado, Mike Street, Sharon Suhovy, and Tim Youd.

13•4•13  is the final of three weekend shows from students of Mat Gleason’s Coagula Curator’s College, a six week-long seminar designed to give fledgling curators the opportunity to showcase their skills, using only art work in Coagula’s storage unit.
