It’s a whole night of Cacophony! From the book signing and party at La Luz de Jesus to the Vista Theater where INTO THE ZONE,the mind-expanding documentary about the Cacophony Society makes its Los Angeles debut, East Hollywood becomes a zone of owned by a strange society of which you may already be a member!
Celebrate the legendary, mythic, mysterious, surreal and sublime Cacophony Society whose exploits–chronicled in the new tome Tales of the Legendary San Francisco Cacophony Society (a grimoire of goofiness, if ever there were!)–will be exposed at La Luz de Jesus, on Saturday June 22 at their book signing and party, followed by a screening of INTO THE ZONE just down the block.
Responsible for much of the mayhem of the 1990s on through the aughts, the Cacophony Society–itself the spawn of the Erisian bad boys and girls of the San Francisco Suicide Club–brought forth unto this world Burning Man, Fight Club, LaughingSquid.com, flash mobs, urban exploration, and culture jamming, and way more strange and exuberant experiences.
Beginning at 6pm at La Luz de Jesus, expand your mind and stimulate your synapses with an evening of FREE entertainment including book readings by author / editors John William Vincent Law and Carrie Galbraith, plus Los Angeles Cacophony Society founder Rev. Al Ridenour. Add in performances by Art Of-Bleeding, Chuckles Risos Klown, Rich Polysorbate, Stinky the World’s Wurst Klown and Magician Christopher Wonder. Plus rare live performances by Rosemary’s Billygoat and Mike Odd.
This is a progressive event, with Los Angeles Premiere of the Cacophony Society documentary film INTO THE ZONE at The VISTA Theater at 11:30 p.m, along with performances by Stinky the World’s Wurst Klown, magician Christopher Wonder, and Ego Plum & the Ebola Orchestra. Advance tickets for INTO THE ZONE strongly advised $10 & up http://
