Now in its third year, ArtPadSF returns to the uber-hip Phoenix Hotel, located in San Francisco’s once notorious Tenderloin District, now home to a burgeoning blend of art galleries, restaurants and high tech businesses. ArtPadSF 2013 will host 40 galleries in the boutique hotel’s groovy rooms which surround the vintage kidney-shaped pool. The art fair focuses on introducing both new-on-the-scene galleries and established galleries to new collectors and audiences through innovative programming and performances, collector tours, video screenings, installations, special events and panels. CARTWHEEL is one of ArtPadSF’s media sponsors.
Art Pad’s May 16th opening night preview benefits the SFMOMA SECA Art Award exhibition with an evening of public programming in partnership with San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Purchasing an opening night SFMOMA SECA Art Award VIP Preview Ticket automatically makes the ticket holder an ArtPadSF VIP, with admission to the three-day for you and guest. The $125 VIP Preview Tickets and $50 tickets for the party only are on sale now. On opening night BAM/PFA (UC Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive) presents an outdoor video installation by Bay Area-based artist Andrew Benson, programmed by BAM/PFA curator Steve Seid.
