March 8, 2013 @ 8:00 pm - March 10, 2013 @ 5:00 pm

It’s fitting that Fountain hits New York with a VIP opening March 8 at the site of the original Armory Show a century ago where Marchel Duchamp  first exhibited his work in New York, leaving lasting legacy that challenged people’s preconceived notions of what art can be. One hundred years later, Fountain Art Fair is challenging people’s preconceived notions of what an art fair can be.

With over 60 galleries international featuring avant garde galleries and projects, Fountain is a uniquely alternative art fair model with genuine dedication to the artists and galleries who share in its vision and ideology. Along with galleries, on Friday and Saturday nights Fountain presents special live music events from 7pm to midnight.

Fountain Art Fair was founded in 2006 by David Kesting, Lincoln Capla, and John Leo as an attempt to leverage support for smaller independent galleries, collectives, and artists who wished to gain access to a larger audience of collectors and critics. From its roots deep within the independent Williamsburg, Brooklyn art scene, Fountain has quickly grown to become a significant presence in New York, Miami, Chicago and Los Angeles art markets. CARTWHEEL featured artists Cory Hagberg and Evo Love were both discovered at Fountains’s 2012 Miami show.

Fountain VIP passes are $50.00 with a preview from noon-7pm. Weekend passes are $15.00;  and day passes are $10. VIP  Armory passes will be honored.
