“Marvelous Expeditions” Group Show at Thinkspace
On September 1, Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City opened a wonderful group show “Marvelous Expeditions,” curated by the talented Dabs Myla. The buzz in the air was contributed by the artists featured in the show, billed as “friends” of the talented duo; and by their installation, with help from artists Greg “Craola” Simkins, which features an interactive box of naughtiness and a smoking volcano that just looks great next to the cityscape.
“Don’t Trip” opened in the project room featuring works from artist Sergio “SURGE” Hernandez. The San Diego artist’s work revolves around his passions for graffiti, books, and tattoos. SURGE created a wall dedicated to 30+ book covers with drawings that match the books, with pencil drawings in his signature flash tattoo art style, complimenting Dabs Myla and their friends’ work. “Marvelous Expeditions” and “Don’t Trip” are on view at Thinkspace Gallery through September 22nd and is definitely not to be missed.
