Cartwheel Recap: “El Velorio” at KGB Studios
The GetDown Collective hosted a celebration at KGB Studios in Chinatown, “El Velorio” (The Wake), a Day of the Dead Cultural Event and Community Art Exhibit curated by Antonio Pelayo. Hosted by Wilmer Valdarama this event had music, dance, face painting, photo booth, live painting and food and drinks for all that attended. This event was a benefit for Las Fotos Project a nonprofit, community-based program empowering Latina youth through photography, mentorship, and self-expression. This was a one night event and CARTWHEEL’s’s own Luis Ochoa was there to capture the moments.
