Many, many artists have begun their careers creating ads, illustrations, and other marketing art. The Sistine Chapel? A huge commercial gig that cemented Michaelangelo’s place in history.

The  3rd annual Jarritos Flavor City Art Contest offers artists a chance for some serious exposure. The winning piece will be published as a Jarritos advertisement in an art/trade publication; and the first, second, and third place winners will be featured as art at Jarritos events, and be the subject of an online/email blast–plus  there’s a supply of Jarritos for each of the winners. The deadline is March 1, 2013, so pull out your palette, dust off your keyboard, shake your spray cans, sharpen your pastels and start creating a piece that incorporates the slogan

We’re not from here

along with the Jarritos logo and at least one of their eleven natural flavors.   You’ll find the necessary elements, including the Jarritos logo, Jarritos botttle images, and slogan here.

The panel of judges, made up of professionals in the arts includes some names familiar to CARTWHEEL readers, like Gregory Siff, Casey Zoltan of Known Gallery, Ethos Gallery‘s Lisa Falcone, and artist Annie Preece, plus CARTWHEEL founder Cindy Schwarzstein. Photographer Luis Ochoa, whose images appear on CARTWHEEL also joins the judging panel along with Risky, Dante Colombatti of LA Canvas, artist Antonio Pelayo, Leticia Rhi Buckley of the  Los Angeles County Arts Commission,  actor Jacob Vargas, Dan Regan of Black Banditzand Brandy Flower of Hit+Run; with Les Shettaoe from Division Creative Foundry, Franklin Green of Frank 151, Adrian Miller of Power by Xyion.com,  and Roger Gastman of R. Rock Enterprises  bringing their savvy to the panel.

Now in its third year, Jarritos Flavor City provides exposure (and soda!) to artists. So pop open a bottle of Jarritos soda and let your creative juices bubble forth.  You’ll find the necessary elements, including the Jarritos logo, Jarritos botttle images, and slogan here. And while you’re at it, check out the video of 2010 Jarritos Flavor City winners.
