Preview: “Laluzapalooza” Opens March 7 at La Luz de Jesus
It’s back! The biggest, boldest explosion of Pop Surrealism, conceptual narrative, Low Brow, contemporary grotesque, post-Industrial romanticism, Mid-Century graphic, and just about every other contemporary genre explodes over the walls at La Luz de Jesus’ 28th annual juried show. There’s no theme, just some freshest and most relevant artists working today, drawn from over 16,000 submissions. And while you may recognize some familiar names–like Christopher Ulrich, Stefanie Vega, Click Mort, José Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros, JAW Cooper, Edward Robin Coronel, and Gail Potocki–an overwhelming percentage of the work this year will come from a brand new batch of undiscovered, emerging talent that includes commercial illustrators, graphic designers, tattooists, scenics, students, street taggers, animators and working gallery artists.
Prepare to stare. And to come back for more!
