Save the Date & Preview: “Wet Paint” at Gallery 1444 in Santa Monica – Saturday October 7th

“Wet Paint”, a group street art exhibition opens on Saturday October 7th. The exhibit showcases the works of some well known and up as well as a few up and coming street artist from Los Angeles. Augustine Kofie, Mear One, Mister Cartoon, Marcel “Sel” Blanco, Dye Five and Mr.Trixter are all members of the world renowned “WCA Crew” or “West Coast Artists,” one of the oldest and most respected graffiti crews in L.A., established in 1985 and still relevant in the world of street art and graffiti. In addition, the works of local artists Josh “Joex2” Webb, Jules Muck, Karlos “Bumps”Marquez and Ryan Graeff are all on display showcasing a variety of styles with an impressive body of work. All of these artist have strong foundations in the world of graffiti and have made the transition to the gallery. The wide range of works on display include, collage, landscape, portraits and abstract works. Mr. Trixter, the artist who curated the show explains his relation and motivation behind the show. “These artist where chosen because of our long history and artistic affiliation but also for the high caliber of artistry each artist holds. The majority of the artists showing have over 25 years of experience and the body of work to prove it.” Some prints are also available of select works on display.
