SAVE THE DATE: Downtown LA Art Walk – Thursday, Feb. 8th
It’s that time again – for our favorite recurring event in DTLA that happens every second Thursday of every month – the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk! Enjoy a free self-guided tour around the inner city, where close to 30 galleries, studios and museums open their doors for an extended evening of art, music, and people watching, from 6-10 PM. Many galleries are also the artist’s studio, where they create as well as exhibit their work, such as Miguel Osuna and Robert Reynolds at the corner of 4th and Spring, and Clara Berta and Amber Goldhammer, at 120 East 8th Street. These are especially exciting to visit, as they are not usually open to the public, and you are treated to engaging conversations with the artists themselves.
If you get hungry, there are dozens of great cafes, bars and restaurants throughout the DTLA area, and also, on Artwalk night, some interesting food trucks. Make sure you pick up your free map at one of the participating galleries and stop in at the Art Walk Lounge, this month hosted by the Hive Gallery, at 729 South Spring Street. Or, you can download a map here.
Please note some galleries close at 9 PM and many are open from noon on if you want to start early!
