SAVE THE DATE: Bastille Day Kickoff Reception at 5 Art Gallery – Thursday July 12
After opening in West Hollywood in May with an inaugural exhibit of French street art, 5 Art Gallery is hosting a Bastille Day reception to celebrate the acquisition of new work by French street and pop artists Barnabe and Jisbar. At the July 12 event, they’ll also be exhibiting work by other French street artists, including BABS, Christophe Catelain, L’Atlas, Pro176, Tanc, MonkeyBird, DON, Xare and Zenoy, as well as pop artists like Richard Orlinski, Lisa Sartor and Vincent Faudemer.
5 Art Gallery focuses on emerging and established international artists in pop and urban art. The gallery will be launching its first solo exhibitions this fall, beginning with Pro176 in October, followed by Zenoy in January.
“Blek Le Rat has had his artwork washed away by the city in the past, but now it’s protected by law, and he is regularly commissioned to produce more murals. Street artists are not seen as vandals anymore, but as part of our society’s freedom of speech. Street art is definitely a huge part of art history because it’s part of our time.” -5 Art Gallery co-founder Julie Darmon.
