SAVE THE DATE: Opening of “Conceptual Craft II” at Denk Gallery – Saturday July 14
DENK Gallery opened in the DTLA Arts District in January 2017, with the goal of presenting a diverse and engaging program featuring local and contemporary artists who work in a variety of mediums. The gallery is following up last year’s Conceptual Craft show with a sequel.
Continuing the themes of the first Conceptual Craft show, Conceptual Craft II presents new and recent work by a curated group of twelve artists based in Los Angeles, all of whom are working with sculptural media. The new show emphasizes a return to the studio and its material interests in “crafting” the object as a vehicle for concept. Highlighting the interdependence of ideation and process, Conceptual Craft II showcases works that express content through the material concerns of their physical making.
Conceptual Craft II features works by artists Gioj de Marco, Sean Duffy, Tim Ebner, Joséphine Wister Faure, Kristen Morgin, Rachel Lachowicz, Tom LaDuke, Patrick Nickell, Michael Pierzynski, Tia Pulitzer, Ross Rudel, and George Stoll.
