50 Years of the Rolling Stones: PROJECT Gallery

March 28, 2013 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

ROLLING-STONES-by-KEN-REGAN-696x1024Fifty years ago, the Rolling Stones were “England’s New Hit Makers (the title of their second album), and to celebrate this astounding anniversary–they have never broken up, despite addiction, overdoses and death;, girlfriend drama; monetary issues; and the famous internla tension between Mick and Keith, aka the Glimmer Twins–PROJECT Gallery presents: 50 Years of The Rolling Stones: A Rock and Roll Retrospective featuring rare, intimate and never-before seen photos of the Stones, at this, the show’s United States debut.

Wild horses wouldn’t drag us away from PROJECT Gallery’s opening on March 28 when legendary photographers Neal Preston and Barrie Wentzell will recount and recall the intimate, unique and legendary stories behind their photos adorning the walls. Along with Preston and Wentzell’s work, the exhibition includes  Philip Townsend’s early images of a young, boyish-looking group photographed along the banks of the Thames; intimate behind-the scenes moments by Ken Regan (including the Stones’ infamous El Mocambo show in 1977); and present-day portraits by iconographer Lynn Goldsmith.

Limited edition prints of all sizes will be for sale as well as books, t-shirts and other memorabilia. The show runs through April 21.
