On Sunday November 24, members of the Arroyo Arts Collective open their homes and studio to the public. Now in its 21st year, the NELA (northeast Los Angles) Eagle Rock, Highland Park, Mount Washington tour features over 100 artists. Expect to see fine arts, sculpture, jewelry, crafts, ceramics, tapestry work, and moreby established and emerging artists as you explore the vibrant NELA neighborhoods. (Full disclosure, I have a piece showing at Kelly Thompson’s home studio).
The tour begins at 9:30am at the Lummis Home, 200 E. Ave 43, in Highland Park and runs until 4:30pm. Advance tickets available at Galco’s Old World Grocery (home of the weirdest sodas in the world!) and online, are $10 each. Tickets on the day of the event are $15. This is a self-guided tour, and you’ll want to travel by car, scooter, motorcycle or bike, though there will be shuttle buses making stops at select locations.
