Join us on a special Cartwheel Art Tour, designed for Arts District Alliance, a project of the Arts District Community Council, LA (ADCCLA) in the Downtown Los Angeles Arts District on Wednesday January 21, from 11:00am – 1:30pm.
This walking tour is part of the inaugural launch of the Arts District Alliance’s International Artist Exchange Program.
This year’s theme is “Uniting the World through Art”. The goal is to bring artists from other countries together with artists from the Los Angeles Arts District to exhibit their work together, exchange ideas, learn and discuss common issues facing artists today.
Arts District Alliance is proud to have chosen China as its focus for its inaugural year. Partnering with Weimei Chen, Director of Chinese Art Affairs for the LA Art Show, artists from China were hand selected to participate in what is hoped to be the first of many international AIR (Artist in Resident) programs.
This very special Cartwheel Art Tour has been created as an opportunity for tour participants to connect with the four artists-in-residence Chinese photographers and the four Los Angeles photographers as they photograph, discover, explore and experience the most unique, art-centric, and rapidly changing part of Los Angeles.
Murals of internationally well-known artists, emerging artists and Los Angeles graffiti crews will be showcased, along with significant points of interest including the LA River.
The tour will be led by Cartwheel Art founder, Cindy Schwarzstein, who will be joined by historian, photographer and author of Graffiti LA, Steve Grody
The tour meets at 11:00am on Wednesday January 21 at Art Share LA.
The price of the tour is $15.00. Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite.
