The new group exhibition at Thinkspace Gallery, “Curioso,” showcases animal-themed works by three artists: Lindsey Carr, Frank Gonzales, and Jeremy Hush. Exploring contemporary representations of the natural and animal worlds, viewers can expect to see both historical and urban references to the natural world’s hold on the creative imagination. Carr, an artist and “sometime toy maker,” exhibits antiquated animal portraiture that is dark and at other times whimsical. Gonzales paints birds and flora in a high level of detail with abstract elements and pattern. The ball point pen works by Jeremy Hush are layered, narrative works that come to life off the paper.

The exhibition will be on view June 1 through 29, 2013. An opening reception with the artists will take place on June 1 from 6 to 9pm.

In the project room, new paintings by Glenn Arthur, and in the office area, new works on paper by Erik Siador.
