The Krampus Los Angeles Troupe, our local friendly horde of Krampus-impersonators, will wind their way through the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk on Dec. 12 for the first annual Los Angeles Krampus run, or Krampuslauf. Multiple Krampuses will walk through galleries and interact with the curious in celebration of the Christmas season.

These furry, horned and bedeviled revelers, costumed as the traditional Alpine companion to St. Nicholas, will adhere to a centuries-old tradition of playfully menacing onlookers by brandishing switches and rattling bells and chains to admonish passerby for their “sins” of the past year. The public is invited to dress up and participate as Krampus characters, as well.

Art Walk is a monthly public art experience for visitors and residents of Downtown Los Angeles. Galleries open their doorsto the public and events pop up for those who wander the general area of Spring and Main between 2nd and 9^th streets.
