September 7, 2013 @ 12:00 pm - 10:00 pm

labfest

In true festival fashion, Writ Large Press is hosting “LAB-FEST,” a one-day showcase where poets, musicians, artists, and other creative types can gather to enjoy performances and art, at downtown’s The Last Bookstore.

The event, to be held on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, from noon to 11pm, celebrates the grand opening of DT•LAB [an independent art, literature, music and creative space].

At 1pm, L.A.’s literary icons Sesshu Foster and Javier Rodriguez will hold a public conversation. At 3pm, street artists Cryptik, Shark Toof, Andrew Hem, and Nathan Ota will sign books and appear on a panel discussion moderated by art writer Shana Nys Dambrot. At 10pm will be a performance by  L.A. band Quetzal. Throughout the afternoon, Jen Hofer and Erik Shveima will deconstruct and transform printed work into new works of art. For a complete schedule, visit the event on Facebook.
