“Laluzapalooza,” La Luz de Jesus‘ juried group show, is back and bigger than ever, with 220 pieces of art and 120 artists from six continents, in a jam-packed, salon-like atmosphere where artists we’ve covered like Germs, Vega, Kim Zsebe, Sage, Scott Holloway, Jasmine Worth, Van Saro and others familiar to CARTWHEEL readers in the realms of Pop Surrealism, atomic narrative, Dark Visionary, and California Gothic will hang with exciting emerging and undiscovered talent. The show opens March 1, 2013 and runs through the end of the month.
This opening is going to be an over-the-top visual super-stimulus with mediums ranging from assemblage, photography, and painting to ceramics and scrimshaw, plus taxidermy, needlework and pyrography. There’s even a death ray!
The opening for Laluzapalooza will be a mega-party, full of the artists, their friends, their fans, and anybody who loves art in LA.
Pro-tip: Take the Metro to Sunset and Vermont and walk the block and half northeast to La Luz. Carpool. Or grab dinner and parking at many of the local spots withing walking distance.
