Fabian Castanier Gallery presents new work by Los Angeles based graffiti-writer RISK, an artist with a 30 years of experience creating street art, contemporary art, and fashion. RISK’s work has been everywhere, from the walls of cities and collectors to vinyl toys. He’s a pioneer of writing on “heavens,” or freeway overpasses, and he’s one of the original Southern California writers to paint trains.
Visitors will be able to view RISK’s canvases from spray paint cans which he collected during the course of his artistic journey. The idea is to break the physical boundaries of the canvas and to show the development of RISK as an artist, but also to let the cans represent DNA of the artist himself, the root of self and medium. In essence, the cans are RISK’s “Metallic Tissue.”
Metallic Tissue will be on view from Nov. 2 to Dec. 15.
