LA’s one-of-a-kind underground art showcase and charity auction, Eat Your Art Out, the annual silent art auction fundraiser for Los Angeles’s flat track roller derby league Angel City Derby Girls, is back, featuring the the work of over 60 A-List artists artists from all over the world, including Andy Howell, Angry Woebots, Jim Mahfood aka Food One, Kellesimone Waits, Nico Colaleo, Misaki Sawada, WISE, Yelley, and many more. All pieces have a minimum bid price, but are priced to sell. And once agaan the Derby Angels and their supporters have outdone themselves in creating an over-the-top, out of the world experience for their fundraiser.
On Saturday February 23, Titmouse Studios transforms into bustling drive-in theater on Creature Feature Night, invoking atomic monster classics such The Blob, Godzilla and Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Scary monsters and super foxes will roam among the works of art while enjoying film screenings, food-trucks, open bars, popcorn, and treats; posing for photo-ops with throwbacks to the creepy atomic mutants that populated the B-movies of the 50’s, while dancing to live sets throughout the night by DJ Day, DJ Mahf and more!
This year, the Angel City Derby Girls team up with The Keep A Breast Foundation. Ten of the Angels’ torsos have been cast in plaster and the busts painted by EYAO participating artists. The Keep A Breast Foundation Breast Casts™ exhibition is designed to celebrate and create awareness by harnessing the power of art to communicate complex feelings and thoughts about health, the female form, and ultimately about breast cancer. The casts will be exhibited and sold to raise funds for KAB’s breast cancer awareness programs. All proceeds of these casts sold during EYAO will go to Keep A Breast Foundation.
