JULES MUCK brings the spirit of Venice Beach wherever she goes. And so the opening reception for her solo show, “Muck This House”, at LAB ART was filled to the brink with colorful paintings and wonderful characters. However, the main attraction of the night was a house that Muck built in the center of the gallery. Inside of which, was a painted couch and small color TV that played an experimental video on loop. And when Jules finally arrived, a couple hours after the scheduled time, she began painting one of the exterior walls while dancing to the music. It is definitely a show worth popping into if you’re on La Brea. Especially, since the front room seems like it could have well over a 100 paintings in it that are stacked from floor to ceiling – all giving off a tremendous positive energy.
