Ricky Allman’s Abstract Cityscapes at Marine Contemporary

Posted by

In July, Ricky Allman presented Marine Contemporary with the awesome challenge of exhibiting his painting This Is A Lighthouse. It is the largest work the Venice-based gallery has shown to date and since there was no way the gargantuan canvas was going to fit through the door, they had to stretch it inside of the space. This is a Lighthouse took up an entire wall of the gallery and was really a blockbuster of a painting to witness! All of Allman’s work in the show had this kind of abstract cityscape feel to it– you have to get right up close to in order to see all the details, though, the scale of each piece was still extremely impressive from afar. PS: a major shout-out to the cutest gallery pug on the West Coast!!!
