A few months ago MOCA launched their video channel, providing public access to art video to the expanding international community of art video watchers. At the Art Contemporary Los Angeles art fair, the museum promoted  MOCAtv in their video lounge where visitors can register on the spot to watch a sample video, and then receive a complimentary three month museum membership. ALAC runs through Sunday, January 27 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.

MOCA is offering the free three-month membership to the public for those who register at YouTube for the MOCAtv channel. Users can select tapes to watch online by noted and emerging artists including Eleanor Antin, Chris Burden, Martha Rosler, Ilene Segalove, Marnie Weber, and many more artworks. Each tape includes an artist interview; new videos are added regularly.

In November the MOCAtv channel added Bjork’s “Mutual Core” video directed by L A filmmaker Andrew Thomas Huang.
