Photos: “Get Art” Project Angel Food Benefit
Andy Warhol and his fabulous Factory of superstars set the theme for Project Angel Food‘s “Get Art” benefit Saturday night, June 1, 2013 at Siren Studios Orange. The art-centric fund raiser featured live painting, a photo booth with Andy wigs and eye glasses, performances, DJ Paul V., plus over 300 works of art from established and emerging artists.
Project Angel Food volunteers and staff cook and deliver free and nutritious meals prepared with love throughout Los Angeles County. Each week they provide over 12,000 meals for men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, at a cost of $5 per meal. They are truly superstars!

Warhol loved celebrities, and much of the art reflected that, with images of Marilyn Monroe predominating.

Liz Taylor’s work as an HIV/AIDS activist defined the latter half of her life. Since 1991, The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation has provided over $12 million in grants throughout the world for HIV/AIDS direct care and services.
