Here are a few photos showing a bit of what’s on display at Big Hair: The Life and Times of Tomata Du Plenty May 2 and May 3. This show is a celebration of proto punk pioneer and talented artist Tomata Du Plenty, where performers presenting his music and collectors presenting his art can mingle in one gallery space for an evening or two of entertainment and enlightenment. Above is an example of his series painted on the pages of church hymnals.
One of the more exciting selections of art at this show are the hand-painted signs Tomata Du Plenty created for a local clothing store. Here’s part of one, there are plenty more to take a look at at ArtShare.
