Saturday March 28, the Architecture and Design Museum, Los Angeles presents the opening reception for “Beyond Graffiti 2.”
Curated by the Los Angeles Art Collective, “Beyond Graffiti 2”
exhibits the work of iconic graffiti artists, defining the rich history of the urban art scene as it pushes past the preconception of the spray can as a form of aggression. Graffiti is more than just adding color or words to a wall – it is an expressive gesture vis à vis architecture, design, and the landscape of the city in which we live.
Oh yes it does! And this show–featuring artists like Defer, Chaz Bojorquez and EyeOne who fall under Dark Progressivism, as well as Atlas, Axis, Aise Born, Kofie, Eder Cetina, Fish, Krush and Phantom Street Artist–express some of the the world’s finest post-graf work.
The opening reception is $20 for non-members, $10 for students (please have your ID with you), and free for A=D Museum members. Tickets are available here.
