Gregory Siff and Steve Shaw, will be presenting LOVES with an artist reception tonight, March 24th from 5:00pm – 9:30pm. The reception is at Pacific Design Center’s 4AM Gallery, in West Hollywood.
Based on the “8 Loves of Picasso”, they will be presenting a collection of hand painted photographs from photographer Steve Shaw and artist Gregory Siff. According to the press release, “Eight models were chosen for their unique beauty and presence, each exuding the power and femininity necessary to create the magic that became the art”. The statement continued that they will be offering the series as “one of a kind and to an elite group of restauranteurs and nightclub owners known for their high quality clientele and impeccable taste”.
“8” a solo exhibition from artist Gregory Siff, is a journey into the heart and mind of two artists, inspired by the legendary Pablo Picasso. Behind every illustrious artist is a muse, and much like Picasso, Gregory uses his deeply personal romantic life as thought provoking inspiration for this newest body of work.
Each of the eight muses featured in the exhibition have been hand selected by the artist and are presented as human canvases in this extraordinary expression of Gregory’s unique talent and romanticism. Each woman is a variation of the muses represented in the artist’s life, bringing her own personal story, spirit, and feminine power to her respective portrait.
The models have been hand painted by Gregory, reflecting his distinctive style and personal relationship with each muse. The girls were photographed by celebrated photographer Steve Shaw, known for capturing the most stunning and elegant images in print, successively leaving a trail of superstars in his wake.
Capturing the essence of these eight female muses, through the photography of Steve Shaw, and the brush of artist Gregory Siff, “8” explores the mark and impression left on the artist by the inspirer and vice versa. Energy that is transferred from the muse, into the camera lens, and onto the canvas… is captured forever.
“The drive to create is informed by great love and mad fire. An artist discovers this flame in muses, lovers, mistresses and soul-mates they encounter along the path. Picasso’s major loves brought out rage, desire, tenderness and most of all… the work”. – Gregory Siff.
