Save the Date: LA Art Show Returns to the LA Convention Center January 10th – 14th, 2018

The LA Art Show is an annual highly-anticipated January event that has become a world-class art fair, featuring hundreds of exhibitors from around the world. Highlighting a diverse and exciting combination of galleries, exhibits, dialogs and programming, this years’ event is expected to attract more than 70,000 art enthusiasts to view, experience, and purchase fine art in all mediums.

For the 2018 show, expect to see more international displays at the fair, especially Latin American exhibitions. Building on the success of last year, one vast section of the exhibit hall is dedicated to DIVERSEartLA, featuring the tremendous diversity in the international contemporary art market. Curated by Marisa Caichiolo of the Building Bridges Art Exchange in Santa Monica, the special presentations there will include a premier United States exhibit by MUSA Museum of the Arts Guadalajara, along with installations by the Museum of Latin American Art, the UCLA Art | Sci Center, Building Bridges, and many other presentations including multi-media, performance, and interactive features.

A new element at this years’ event is Design LA Art, where the intersection of furniture, décor, architecture and fine art is celebrated. Renowned Korean artist Lee Jae-Hyo is the focal point of this exhibit, where his intricate sculptures blur the line between form and function, in furniture as fine art and architectural objects.

Cartwheel Art is always very excited to be part of the LA Art Show. Our founder, Cindy Schwarzstein was on the host committee in 2013, and has continued to support them ever since. When Cartwheel Art was founded in 2013, we became a media partner, supporting the art fair through the magazine and creating special programming to tie into the event. Whether through designing and leading mural tours of the Arts District to complement panel discussions, leading tours of the “Littletopia” and special exhibition sections, moderating and organizing panel discussions, or presenting the “Dark Progressivism: Metropolis Rising,” exhibition, we love being a part of the LA Art Show! This year we continue our tradition as a media contributor of the event, and possibly with some very special programming. We hope to see you at this international art event, with over 100 galleries from 18 countries. Stay tuned!! 🙂
