SAVE THE DATE: “Foundation” – A Two Woman Show at Art Share LA – May 5th, 7-10 pm
“Foundation” – the newest Art Share L.A. exhibition – opens this weekend on Saturday, May 5th featuring the work of Susan Feldman Tucker and Melinda R. Smith. The show focuses on the concept of “home” and includes both an experiential element, with a walk-through installation by Susan, and new works on canvas by Melinda. Curated by Shana Nys Dambrot, the showcase explores “impermanence and legacy” as it pertains to one of the most important elements in our lives – home.
The concept of home can have deep meaning and levels of importance to everyone. In this thoughtful exhibit, each artist has expressed their personal perspective in intriguing and distinctive fashion. Melinda, an oil painter, explores her vision of what home could be – or not – in over a dozen new paintings. Susan, a mixed-media artist, has re-created someone else’s home with wood scavenged from the empty abode. This is the first time the walk-through installation has been assembled outside of her studio.
