August 8, 2013 @ 7:00 pm - 11:55 pm

The Karma Underground’s “Oh Brother Where Art Thou” Charity Art Auction is August 8, 2013 at Angel City Brewery. Last year’s TKU auction for Karmablast raised over $10,000 to help that organization, and this year Tibet House will be the beneficiary.

From the organizer:

On September 21st 2012 the TKU held its first charity art auction.  With the generous donations from our community of artists, we were able to raise over $10,000 for Karmablast, a non-profit group dedicated to building schools and monasteries for the Tibetan people.  We were able to help fund a project that is building a school for nomadic girls.  We are honored to have participated in helping this project get off the ground.

On August 8, 2013, the TKU will have its second charity art auction benefitting Tibet House.  Tibet House US aims to promote and preserve Tibetan culture by serving as both a cultural center in New York City and an online global resource for those interested in Tibetan civilization.  You can learn more at http://tibethouse.us

The exhibition includes live painting by Mear One; art by Lydia Emily, Van Arno, Gary Baseman, Max Neutra, Allison Torneros, Brandon Boyd, John Park, Shark Toof, Meggs, The Clayton Brothers and more.

Earlier this summer, Ransom & Mitchell provided us a behind the scenes look at their latest set of images “It Will Be Ours,” one of which will be in the TKU auction. If you missed it, check out the photos here.

Bill Barminski, one of the artists participating in TKU’s Oh Brother Where Art Thou, is part of AIDS Healthcare Foundation‘s new fine arts billboard campaign. And we’ve begun previewing  the art donated for TKU, starting with photography. Check CARTWHEELart’s News page  and our Facebook page for more updates!
