On Sunday February 26th, a group of dynamic women from the Junior League of Los Angeles, descended upon an immersive private tour experience in Venice Beach. The tour was offered in partnership by Cindy Schwarztein of Cartwheel Art x Kim Ohanneson, Los Angeles chapter president of Women Who Whiskey. The tour was designed to include a neighborhood exploration of street art and skate/surf culture led by Venice Beach Cartwheel Art’s host, and Juice Magazine’s Dan Levy, that would end with a day of cocktails and camaraderie, while being surrounded by work of urban artists at C.A.V.E. Gallery.

C.A.V.E Gallery, who hosted the group, is where the women experienced a bit of imbibing and immersion in the excellently curated art, before the tour began its day-long adventure that focussed on the captivating array of murals strategically placed throughout the bohemian Venice beachside alleys and iconic walls.

The group of culturally intelligent ladies found themselves recognizing some of the murals, and were excited to learn the back stories of the artists who have graciously displayed their work in public spaces for all to appreciate.

As our walkabout continued, we made our way over the skatepark for a quick history of how the park came to fruition and the skateboarders on deck put on a great show for the group.

We then made our way down Market Street, the heart of Silicon Beach, and, after snapping a quick photo in front of one of Isabell Alford-Lago famous gorillas, we returned to the C.A.V.E. Gallery for more libations and lore.

As we walked into the door at C.A.V.E. Gallery, it began to rain, an extreme rarity in SoCal, and we all had a good laugh as the whiskey tasting and high spirits commenced.

Shout out to the wonderfully talented Kim Ohanneson of Women Who Whiskey as well as Patrick Iaconnis of C.A.V.E. Gallery for an incredible experience.
