LA Art Show 2014: Los Angeles Murals Reclaim Their Place
Saturday at the LA Art Show, Isabel Rojas-Williams presented “Will Los Angeles Reclaim Its Title as the Mural Capital of the World?” CARTWHEEL is presented a special guided tour of the Los Angeles Downtown Arts District murals for LA Art Show guests which tied into the exhibition. Went for a stroll with friends in Highland Park after a Bat Mitzvah service at the historic Temple Beth Israel and spotted these murals in the alley and behind Highland Park Swap Mall on Figueroa. Technically, these murals were illegal until the recent passing of the Los Angeles City Mural Ordinance.
